Technical professional program

EducateVA, the Virginia Community College Career Switcher program, provides an alternative pathway to teacher licensure. Educators currently teaching on a Technical Professional provisional license may participate in a combination of online and weekend classes to complete the required coursework. The program is approved by the Virginia Department of Education and prepares teachers across the Commonwealth, who go on to be fully licensed upon completion.

Participants will complete the three Professional Studies courses required for the Technical Professional license over three consecutive semesters. Each 16-week semester will include two Saturday sessions, seven biweekly evening sessions (virtual), and submission of online assignments.

In-state tuition: $800 (covers all three courses)
